The NBYA Junior Race Week is a premier youth sailing event organized by the Narragansett Bay Yachting Association (NBYA), bringing together young sailors from across Rhode Island and beyond for a week of competitive racing and camaraderie. Held annually in August, the event features multiple fleets, including Optimists, Club 420s, and ILCA (Laser) classes, providing a platform for sailors of various skill levels to showcase their abilities. The event is renowned for its emphasis on sportsmanship, skill development, and community engagement. Sailors not only compete but also participate in various clinics and seminars aimed at enhancing their sailing knowledge and techniques. NBYA Junior Race Week serves as a cornerstone of the association’s mission to promote youth sailing and foster a lifelong passion for the sport among young sailors.
