The final NBYA regatta of 2026 was held off of Wickford August 11-12. The C 420 and ILCA fleets sailed trapezoid courses with the fleets taking turns on the inner and outer loop configurations.

Conditions were great on day 1 with a challenging NW breeze between 6 and 14 knots with lots
of shifts which made decision making very challenging. Five races were sailed in each fleet. Day
2 began with a dying NNE breeze that was destined to die. Both fleets managed a single race
before the breeze gave up for the day.

In the C 420 class, Henry Silva and Josh Resnick held a small lead in the 16 boat fleet going into
day 2 but sailed their drop in the only race, surrendering their lead to Harrison Beal and William
Driscoll who won 3 of the last 4 races. Mathieu and Zach Carron were solid following a poor
first race and ended 2 nd overall with Henry and Josh in 3rd .

Theo Fechner dominated the 12 boat ILCA fleet with 5 firsts in 6 races. He dropped a 2nd .
Gabrielle Sweeney came all the way from Marblehead and made the trip worthwhile with a
solid 2nd overall. Henry Richards was 3rd just a single point behind Gabrielle.
NBYA hosted a pizza feast before awards. There were no leftovers!

WSA and NBYA are indebted to the Town of North Kingstown for the use of Cold Spring Beach
as the venue. The beach is an optimum venue and the area of the West Passage off Wickford is
a perfect place to race sailboats.
