This year's clinic and regatta was hosted by GBSA and the East Greenwich Yacht Club on June 29th and 30th and was the 31st year of this girls-only event. 18 Competitors participated in a clinic on Monday, focusing on boat handling and the "heavy hitters" of the Part 2 Rules of Sailing.  The regatta day featured a strong and steady sea breeze throughout the day. Race Committee, led by Vin MacAteer, fired off 7 races. Almost every single girl completed every single race, which is a huge accomplishment, as this was the first regatta for many.  Defending Champion Keira Oakley of Barrington Yacht Club duked it out with many fierce competitors. Oakley secured two wins in the first two races, with Hadley Slusarz close behind in second for both R1 and R2. From there, we had a show down featuring, what Race Committee could only guess, some match racing tactics. In the end, Slusarz carried the day, winning the Mary Rose Marshall Cup. Slusarz trains with JK Sailing and hails from Barrington Yacht Club. In second place, we had Keria Oakley, of Wickford Yacht Club. Coming in third place was Evie Godbout from Barrington Yacht Club.  Congratulations to all and thank you to our host, East Greenwich, for an amazing event this year.  [View the Results](https://narragansettbayyachtingassociation.theclubspot.com/regatta/ACkoeTKjWq/results) ![IMG\_4128 (1)](https://50751578.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/50751578/hubfs/IMG_4128%20(1).jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=IMG_4128%20(1).jpg) ![IMG\_4098 (1)](https://50751578.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/50751578/hubfs/IMG_4098%20(1).jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=IMG_4098%20(1).jpg) ![IMG\_4088 (1)](https://50751578.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/50751578/hubfs/IMG_4088%20(1).jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=IMG_4088%20(1).jpg) ![IMG\_4085 (1)](https://50751578.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/50751578/hubfs/IMG_4085%20(1).jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=IMG_4085%20(1).jpg) ![IMG\_4070 (1)](https://50751578.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/50751578/hubfs/IMG_4070%20(1).jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=IMG_4070%20(1).jpg)   ## Share this post [mailto:https%3A%2F%2Fnbya.org%2Fnews%2Fmary-rose-marshall-girls-opti-clinic-and-regatta-2026](mailto:https%3A%2F%2Fnbya.org%2Fnews%2Fmary-rose-marshall-girls-opti-clinic-and-regatta-2026) ## Keep reading ### [![](https://nbya.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Copy%20of%20NBYA.org%20Featured%20Image%201200x630%20-%202026-10-05T142727.046.png?width=1200&height=630&name=Copy%20of%20NBYA.org%20Featured%20Image%201200x630%20-%202026-10-05T142727.046.png) Junior PHRF In The News Chasing Five Knots](https://nbya.org/news/chasing-five-knots) ### [![](https://nbya.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Copy%20of%20NBYA.org%20Featured%20Image%201200x630%20-%202026-10-05T142405.853.png?width=1200&height=630&name=Copy%20of%20NBYA.org%20Featured%20Image%201200x630%20-%202026-10-05T142405.853.png) Junior PHRF In The News Yellow Brick Road to BDA](https://nbya.org/news/yellow-brick-road-to-bda) - [Home](https://nbya.org) - [Junior Sailing](https://nbya.org/junior-sailing) - [Racing & Cruising](https://nbya.org/racing-cruising) - [News](https://nbya.org/news) - [About](https://nbya.org/about) - [Calendar](https://nbya.org/calendar) --- [![Narragansett Bay Yachting Association (NBYA)](https://nbya.org/hs-fs/hubfs/2025-10-21_Burgee_and_NBYA_white.png?width=300&height=92&name=2025-10-21_Burgee_and_NBYA_white.png "Narragansett Bay Yachting Association (NBYA)")](https://nbya.org) ###### Narragansett Bay Yachting Association (NBYA) works to support and grow sailing in Greater Rhode Island.
