Take control of your safety and build confidence on the water with this 1-Day Man Overboard (MOB) Workshop. Specifically designed for shorthanded boating couples, this hands-on event focuses on the practical skills needed to develop and implement a definitive MOB plan for your crew and vessel. Through presentations, discussions, and gear demonstrations, you will learn the critical mechanics of executing a MOB rescue. You will also get a realistic look at recovery challenges as you practice hauling a weighted, human-sized dummy out of the water dockside. The workshop will culminate in a live, on-the-water MOB demonstration.

This workshop is for shorthanded boating couples, i.e. two people operating a sailboat or motorboat together with a reduced crew, who do any type of sailing (daysailers, cruisers, or longer distance trips), and who do not have an MOB plan. We will discuss MOB plans for a variety of vessel types and tailor the content for the participants, their sailing expertise, and their boat type/length.
We are limiting the number of participants for this event to 24 to safely conduct the on-the-water MOB demonstration. Please sign up early if you want to get a spot, or two.
The ticket price for this event is $30 per person and includes morning coffee and pastry, a catered lunch, and safety boat crews. Please note that the active on-the-water portion depends entirely on favorable weather and sea conditions, with a backup plan of enhanced dockside walk-throughs and video analysis ready to go. Secure your spot today to ensure you and your partner are prepared with an MOB plan should the need arise.
