Break Barriers on the Water

If you’ve ever gazed across the fleet of sailboats preparing for the start of the race, I am sure you have noticed that the view is often a bit one-sided. Where are all the women, and how come so few of them are at the helm? The Bristol-based sailing school, East Bay Sailing Foundation, is taking steps to change that view in June with a 2-day racing clinic for beginner or early-stage women sailors. Happy sailing!

The toughest part of racing is getting to the starting line for the first time. This June, East Bay Sailing Foundation is making that step easy and approachable. Join them at the Bristol Yacht Club on June 6th and 7th for a Women’s Racing Clinic designed specifically for sailors with prior experience who are ready to dive into the racing world or sharpen their existing skills.

This weekend is all about building confidence and mastering the fundamentals in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

What to Expect:

  • Dates & Time: June 6–7, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • The Experience: You’ll sail small keelboats, blending hands-on on-water drills with insightful land-based instruction.
  • Fuel & Fun: We’ve got lunch covered both days. On Sunday, we’ll wrap up the weekend with a cocktail social hour and light refreshments to celebrate our progress.
Whether you want to learn to call the tactics or finally take the tiller during a start, this clinic is your chance to expand your skills alongside a community of like-minded women.

Ready to claim your spot at the start?

Let’s close the gap and get more women skippering on the bay.
We can’t wait to see you on the water!
