Bristol 250th Anniversary Pursuit Race June 28, 2026

The Bristol 250th Anniversary Commission, in partnership with the Herreshoff Marine  Museum and the Bristol Yacht Club, is proud to announce the Bristol 250th Anniversary Pursuit Race.

Join us as we celebrate two and a half centuries of Bristol’s maritime heritage with a spectacular day of racing on the water.

The Course & Competition:  Organizers invite all sailboats with a current 2026 PHRF
rating to compete. This pursuit-style race begins in Bristol Harbor and follows a scenic
racecourse encompassing Bristol’s historic shoreline in both Narraganset and Mt. Hope
Bays.

• Start Time: The first start will be at 12 p.m.
• Eligibility: Both Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker racers with a PHRF rating are welcome.
• Race Management: Provided by the team at the Herreshoff Marine Museum.
• Post-Race Celebration: The festivities continue ashore at the Bristol Yacht Club on Poppasquash Road. Join fellow sailors for a cocktail hour and awards presentation. Honorswill be given to the top three finishers, along with a special "Spirit of 1776" Award for
  the most patriotic boat and crew.
