The Barrington High School sailing team recently had an outstanding performance at the New England Fleet Race Championship in Hyannis, MA winning both A and B division by an impressive 30 point margin. Competing against elite private schools from across New England, Barrington not only stood out as one of the few public schools at the event, but they were the first public school to win the O’Day trophy in 32 years.
Their season is not over as they now prepare for Fleet Race Nationals in New Orleans where they will be competing against the best high school teams from across the country.
The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next.
